The Children's Shelter will host the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Heart Gallery from February 10 through February 14, 2014 at The Children’s Shelter main campus located at 2939 West Woodlawn.
The Heart Gallery is a mobile grassroots effort by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ Texas Adoption Resource Exchange (TARE) to display poster-sized photographs of children available for adoption in nine Texas regions. Individuals or families interested in adopting children currently in foster care can view photos at the Heart Gallery. For more information, call 212-2590.

Culled: "81.6 percent of all children killed were under four years of age. 78.3 % of fatalities were caused by parents. Four-fifths of duplicated (counting incidents, not people) were parents; of the duplicated perpetrators who were parents, 87.6 percent were biological parents. Three fifths of duplicate victims received post response services."
